Argyropeza was named by Melvill and Standen (1901) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-m R Sepkoski's reference number: 550]. It is extant. Its type is Argyropeza divina.
It was assigned to Cerithiinae by MacNeil (1960); to Cerithiadae by Ladd (1977) and Wilson (1993); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).
