Taxonomy
Codakia (Jagonia) magnoliana was named by Dall (1903) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Pliocene; Atlantic Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is USNM 115113, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ctena magnoliana by Gardner (1943); it was recombined as Ctena (Ctena) magnoliana by Hendy et al. (2008).
