Taxonomy
Phacoides (Cardiolucina) postalveatus was named by Gardner (1943) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Pliocene; Atlantic Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is USNM 325539, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cardiolucina postalveatus by Hendy et al. (2008).
