Natica semisulcata was named by Gray (1839) [DISTRIBUTION: ?-Recent; Western Atlantic]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Eunaticina semisulcata by Dall (1903); it was recombined as Sigatica semisulcata by Woodring (1928), Hendy et al. (2008).
