Scapharca (Scapharca) halidonata was named by Dall (1892) [DISTRIBUTION: "Miocene"-Early Pliocene; Curacao, Jamaica. TYPE: cotype number listed.]. Its type specimen is USNM 135756, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Barbatia (Diluvarca) halidonata by Woodring (1925).
