Taxonomy
Dolichosaurus longicollis was named by Owen (1850). Its type specimen is BMNH R49002, a partial skeleton (partial skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Culand Pits, Burham, which is in a Cenomanian/Turonian basinal (carbonate) chalk/marl in the United Kingdom.
