Mesalia lincolnensis was named by Weaver (1916) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Washington.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Galvin Station, which is in a Chattian offshore sandstone in the Lincoln Creek Formation of Washington.
It was recombined as Acrilla (Ferminoscala) lincolnensis by Durham (1937), Durham (1944).
