Bolivinellina was named by Saidova (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: T Plio R]. It is extant. It was considered unknown by Loeblich and Tappan (1987).

It was assigned to Bolivinitidae by Loeblich and Tappan (1987); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).
