Kiaeraspis was named by Stensio (1927). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Kiaeraspidoidea, Kiaeraspididae.
It was assigned to Osteostraci by Dineley and Metcalfe (1999); and to Kiaeraspididae by Sansom (2009).
