Taxonomy
Pecten eyrei was named by Tate (1886) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Eocene-Early Miocene; Australia.]. Its type specimen is SAM T941A, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Chlamys eyrei by Darragh (1970); it was recombined as Talochlamys eyrei by Beu and Darragh (2001) and Darragh and Kendrick (2008).
