Taxonomy
Tellina arctata was named by Conrad (1849) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Pacific Coast, North America.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Macoma arctata by Loel and Corey (1932) and Addicott (1973); it was recombined as Macoma (Psammacoma) arctata by Etherington (1931) and Moore (2003).
