Taxonomy
Drillia elocata was named by Pilsbry and Johnson (1922) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Carinodrillia (Carinodrillia) elocata by Woodring (1970); it was recombined as Carinodrillia elocata by Woodring (1928), Hendy et al. (2008).
