Taxonomy
Orthaulax inornatus was named by Gabb (1872) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Baitoa Formation (unspecified localities), which is in a Miocene coastal siliciclastic in the Baitoa Formation of the Dominican Republic.
