Tellina fausta was named by Pulteney (1799) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Caribbean.]. It is extant. It is the type species of Arcopagia (Johnsonella).
It was recombined as Tellina (Cyclotellina) fausta by Woodring et al. (1924); it was recombined as Arcopagia (Johnsonella) fausta by Vokes (1972); it was recombined as Arcopagia fausta by Hendy et al. (2008).
