Scapharca (Scapharca) campyla was named by Dall (1898) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Pleistocene; Florida.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Anadara (Anadara) campyla by Olsson and Harbison (1953), DuBar (1958) and Hendy et al. (2008).
