Cerithium (Gourmya) baluchistanense was named by Vredenburg (1928) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Oman, Pakistan.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Gourmya baluchistanense by Harzhauser (2007) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
