Scrinium was named by Hedley (1922) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 530,681]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Mitromorphinae by Beu et al. (1990); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
