Taxonomy
Dyoros magnus was named by Stehli (1954) [Lectotype selected by Cooper & Grant (1975)]. Its type specimen is AMNH 27295/1:2, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Dyoros (Dyoros) magnus by Cooper and Grant (1975).
