Hamites interruptus was named by Schlüter (1872) [DISTRIBUTION: Campanian-Maastrichtian; Europe, central Asia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pseudoxybeloceras (Parasolenoceras) interruptum by Kennedy (1986) and Kennedy (1993).
