Taxonomy

Ferestromatopora contexta was named by Stearn (1963).

It was recombined as Arctostroma contextum by Stearn (1996).

Synonyms

Stromatopora mikkwaensis was named by Stearn (1966). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Mikkwa River, which is in a Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Mikkwa Formation of Canada.

It was synonymized subjectively with Arctostroma contextum by Stearn (1996).
Arctostroma ignotum was named by Yavorsky (1967).

It was synonymized subjectively with Arctostroma contextum by Stearn (1996).
