Taxonomy
Acanthoclymenia was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-l D Fras-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1042]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Acanthoclymeniidae, Acanthoclymeniinae.

It was assigned to Anarcestida by Sepkoski (2002); to Acanthoclymeniidae by Korn and Klug (2002), Korn (2006); and to Acanthoclymeniinae by Bockwinkel et al. (2013).
