Soliclymenia was named by Schindewolf (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-m D Fame-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1042]. It is not extant. Its type is Goniatites solarioides.
It was assigned to Hexaclymeniidae by Bogoslovsky (1981); to Clymeniida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Glatziellidae by Korn (2006).
