Taxonomy
Aplococeras was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Aplococeratidae.

It was assigned to Aplococeratidae by Spath (1951), Tozer (1981) and Brack and Rieber (1993); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
