Dagnoceras was named by Arthaber (1911) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Dagnoceras nopcsanum.
It was assigned to Dagnoceratinae by Spath (1934); to Meekoceratidae by Kummel (1969); to Dinaritinae by Tozer (1981); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dinaritidae by Mertmann and Jacobshagen (2003).
