Dobrogeites was named by Kittl (1908) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr m Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Dobrogeites tirolitiformis.
It was assigned to Aplococeratidae by Spath (1951); to Megaphyllitidae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
