Taxonomy
Wangoceras was named by Tozer (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. Its type is Pseudotibetites pax.

It was assigned to Sirenitinae by Tozer (1981); to Heraclitidae by Tozer (1994); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
