Bairdia texana was named by Harlton (1927). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cisco Ostracoda, N TX, which is in a Pennsylvanian offshore shale in the Cisco Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Orthobairdia texana by Sohn (1960).
