Taxonomy

Aulacostephanus is a genus. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Aulacostephaninae.

It was assigned to Aulacostephaninae by Mesezhnikov (1984); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aulacostephanidae by Grigore and Marcu (2009).
