Yarasuchus was named by Sen (2005). It is extant. Its type is Yarasuchus deccanensis.
It was assigned to Prestosuchidae by Sen (2005); to Eucrocopoda by Ezcurra (2016); and to Aphanosauria by Nesbitt et al. (2017).
