Neocomites
Taxonomy
Neocomites was named by Uhlig (1905) [Sepkoski's age data: K Berr K Haut-l]. It is the type genus of Neocomitidae.
It was assigned to Berriasellidae by Wiedmann (1979); to Ammonoidea by Imlay (1960) and Sepkoski (2002); and to Neocomitinae by Imlay and Jones (1970), Reboulet (1996), Lukeneder (2004), Klein (2005), Zell et al. (2015) and Ovando-Figueroa et al. (2024).
It was assigned to Berriasellidae by Wiedmann (1979); to Ammonoidea by Imlay (1960) and Sepkoski (2002); and to Neocomitinae by Imlay and Jones (1970), Reboulet (1996), Lukeneder (2004), Klein (2005), Zell et al. (2015) and Ovando-Figueroa et al. (2024).
