Taxonomy
Rhaeboceras was named by Meek (1876) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp-u K Maes-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1107]. Its type is Ammonites halli.

It was assigned to Scaphitinae by Riccardi (1983), Cobban (1987) and Grier and Grier (1998); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
