Kaprosuchus was named by Sereno and Larsson (2009). It is not extant.
It was assigned to Crocodyliformes by Bronzati et al. (2012); to Mahajangasuchidae by Sereno and Larsson (2009), Turner and Sertich (2010), Sertich and O'Connor (2014); and to Notosuchia by Pol et al. (2014).
