Tapirus webbi (tapir)
Taxonomy
Tapirus webbi was named by Hulbert (2005) [comprises specimens from Florida formerly placed in Tapirus simpsoni]. Its type specimen is UF 11005, a partial skull (partial skull that includes portions of right and left maxillae and nasals; right I1, I3, and P2-P3; and left C and P1-M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is McGehee Farm, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Alachua Formation of Florida.
