It was recombined as Psephis tantilla by Moody (1916); it was recombined as Transennella tantilla by Woodring and Bramlette (1950) and Vedder and Norris (1963); it was recombined as Transenella tantilla by Valentine (1957); it was recombined as Nutricola tantilla by Coan et al. (2000) and Hendy (2021).
