Chubutodyptes biloculata

Taxonomy
Palaeospheniscus bilocular was named by Simpson (1970). Its type specimen is AMNH 3346, a set of postcrania (right humerus), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Castillo, which is in a Burdigalian/Burdigalian shallow subtidal sandstone in the Gaiman Formation of Argentina.

C. Acosta Hospitaleche and C. Tambussi 2008Tarsometatarsus. Total length more than 43 mm, be- ing the largest species of the genus. Lateral divergence of the trochlea for digit II greater than in P. bergi and P. biloculata. Crista lateralis hypotarsi more developed than in the other species of the genus, reaching the fossa supratrochlearis plantaris. Absence of a crista intermediate hypotarsi.
