Isocyprina was named by Röder (1882) [Sepkoski's age data: J Hett-l J Oxfo Sepkoski's reference number: 715]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Arcticidae by Vokes (1980), Scholz et al. (2008) and Marquez-Aliaga et al. (2010).
