It was assigned to Venerinae by Glenn (1904), Gardner (1943), Vokes (1980), Pugaczewska (1984), Gazdzicki and Pugaczewska (1984), Freneix et al. (1988); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Veneridae by Clark and Arnold (1923), Camacho (1957), Marasti (1973), Wienrich (1999), Bouchet et al. (2010).
