Taxonomy
Chiton howseanus was named by Kirkby (1857). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tunstall Hill, Durham, which is in a Wuchiapingian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Ford Formation of the United Kingdom.
