Natica intemerata was named by Philippi (1851). It is extant.

It was recombined as Polinices (Polinices) intemerata by Parker (1964); it was recombined as Polinices (Polinices) intemeratus by Keen (1971) and Marincovich (1977); it was recombined as Polinices intemeratus by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010).
