Cyclocarcinides was named by Glaessner (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr u]. Its type is Cyclocarcinus serratus.

It was assigned to Hemitrochiscidae by Glaessner (1969); and to Cyclida by Sepkoski (2002).
