Kaibabella schizodiiformis was named by Lu (1986). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhongshigong Section, 74YPVIF30, Buha Valley, Tianjun, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine horizon in the Caodigou Formation of China.
