Taxonomy
Rotodactylus cursorius was named by Peabody (1948). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UCMP 37794, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Meteor Crater Quarry area, tracksites, which is in a Spathian wet floodplain mudstone in the Moenkopi Formation of Arizona.

F. E. Peabody 19488emi-bipedal, maximum stride 53 cm., maximum pes length 6 cm.; manus digit V turned backward, pes digit V often impressing distal half of its length; digits relatively slender with sharp claws on I-IV.
