Lichas (Conolichas) was named by Dames (1877) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara Sepkoski's reference number: 774]. It is not extant. Its type is Lichas (Conolichas) aequiloba.

It was reranked as Conolichas by Warburg (1939), Thomas and Holloway (1988), Jell and Adrain (2002), Sepkoski (2002) and Pollitt et al. (2005).

It was assigned to Lichas by Dames (1877); to Homolichinae by Thomas and Holloway (1988); to Lichidae by Warburg (1939) and Jell and Adrain (2002); to Lichida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Echinolichini by Pollitt et al. (2005).
