Ceratopyge was named by Hawle and Corda (1847) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-u]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Asaphida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ceratopygidae by Harrington and Leanza (1957), Harrington et al. (1959) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
