Cerauromeros was named by Pribyl and Vanek (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: S Sepkoski's reference number: ZR85]. It is not extant. Its type is Ceraurus hydei.

It was assigned to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cheiruridae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
