Taxonomy
Courtessolium was named by Pribyl and Vanek (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: O l Sepkoski's reference number: ZR85]. It is not extant. Its type is Pseudosphaerexochus (Pateraspis) prepater.

It was assigned to Cheiruridae by Jell and Adrain (2002); to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pilekiinae by Perez-Peris et al. (2021).
