Yangzicaris was named by Shen (1983) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr m Sepkoski's reference number: 619]. It is not extant. Its type is Yangzicaris xiangxiensis.
It was assigned to Conchyliocarida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Austriocarididae by Schram (2014).
