Kallidecthes was named by Schram (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise C Mosc-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Kallidecthes richardson.

It was assigned to Kallidecthidae by Schram (1969) and Schram (1979); and to Aeschronectida by Sepkoski (2002).
