Strombina exilis was named by Gabb (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Dominican Republic.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Columbella exilis by Guppy (1876); it was recombined as Anachis exilis by Maury (1917); it was recombined as Costoanachis exilis by Jung (1989).
