Paralegoceras sundaicum was named by Haniel (1915). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Woearlawan II, Letti Island, which is in a Sakmarian/Artinskian marine sandstone in Indonesia.
It was recombined as Metalegoceras sundaicum by Leonova (2002).
